Our Story

1936
1936

Our Origins

Carmen del Paraná

It all began with an immigrant family.

Children of immigrants who arrived from Europe—more specifically, from Poland—settled around 1936 in the colony that is still part of the city of Carmen del Paraná.

Mechanization

Carmen del Paraná

Our first tractor arrives.

When mechanization began, we purchased a tractor around 1958. With great effort and by gaining the necessary knowledge, we carried out our agricultural work despite the challenges and hardships of farming.

Our First Rice Mill

Carmen del Paraná

Rice has always been our main activity.

We moved to the town of Carmen del Paraná, where we are still based today. As rice has always been our main business, we built a small rice mill within the urban area.

We Organized Ourselves

Carmen del Paraná

The company was born.

In 2000, we acquired the property where our operations are currently based and organized ourselves as a company. We believed that by working together and organizing ourselves, we could create opportunities for others to work.

Parboiled Rice

We took a chance on a new product.

Responding to the needs of the market, we embarked on the production of parboiled rice. At first, it seemed like a difficult challenge, but we believed that with God, anything is possible.

Exports begin

We crossed the border.

Having reached a level of production that exceeded domestic market demand, we began exporting our products to countries like Brazil—the largest consumer of rice—and Argentina.

Expansion into Europe

Expanding into New Markets

Continuing our growth in international markets, in 2015 we successfully introduced our products into the European Union, marking an important milestone in the expansion of Molinos El País. Entering the European market required us to adapt to new and demanding quality standards, demonstrating that rice produced in Paraguay could compete and earn recognition in some of the world’s most demanding markets.

Certified Quality

Certification That Opens New Markets

As part of our commitment to reaching new markets, in 2017 we obtained Kosher certification, ensuring that our products meet the established standards and requirements for this type of food. This certification opened the door to new markets and consumers within the Jewish community, expanding our international presence and creating new opportunities to market our products.

Industrial Expansion

Expanding to Keep Growing

In response to the sustained growth in demand for our products, in 2019 we expanded our industrial infrastructure by 70%, significantly strengthening our production capacity. This expansion allowed us to support the growth of both our domestic and international markets, increasing our ability to meet rising demand while maintaining the quality standards that define our products.

Production from the Source

From the Field to the Final Product

Molinos El País took another step forward in its growth by beginning to grow its own rice. This decision was made in response to the increasing demands of international markets for greater traceability and volume, allowing the company to have more control over its raw materials and oversee the entire production process, from the field to the final product.

One More Step in Our Expansion

Closer to New Markets

Continuing our growth and international expansion, in 2025 we opened our offices in Oklahoma City, United States, strengthening our presence and bringing us even closer to the North American market. That same year, we added a new rice receiving, storage, and drying facility, expanding our infrastructure and increasing our production capacity by 40% to meet the growing demand for our products.
